Hire .NET developers for the systems your business runs on

C# and .NET engineers who build line-of-business applications, connect them to your ERP, and move older .NET Framework code onto modern .NET. They work in your repository, your Azure or on-premises estate, and your standups.

  • Vetted in four stages
  • In place within days
  • Your codebase, your tools, your standups
  • Code and IP transferred to you
  • One UK company accountable

What our .NET developers build

  • Line-of-business systemsOrder, job, stock and approval systems in ASP.NET Core, with the roles, permissions and audit trail an internal tool needs. Built for the people who use them all day.
  • ERP integrationsSync jobs and APIs between your ERP and your web shop, warehouse or CRM. Each record that fails is logged with a reason, retried safely, and never posted twice.
  • SQL Server workSchema changes, query tuning and stored procedures that someone finally documents. Entity Framework Core mapped onto a database that was there long before the code was.
  • Azure applicationsApp Service, Azure Functions, Service Bus and Azure SQL, with infrastructure defined in Bicep or Terraform. Deployments run through pipelines, not from a developer's machine.
  • Modernising .NET Framework applicationsWebForms, WCF and MVC 5 applications moved to modern .NET a piece at a time. The old system keeps running until each part has a tested replacement.

What the practical task checks for .NET

  1. Thin controllers or endpoints, with the business logic in services that can be tested on their own.
  2. SQL Server judgement: an Entity Framework query that produces sensible SQL, and spotting the N+1 in one that does not.
  3. Async used properly, with no .Result or .Wait() calls that deadlock under load.
  4. Changing old code safely: a fix to a .NET Framework sample, with a test that pins the current behaviour written first.
  5. An integration point, such as an ERP or third-party API, handled with retries, timeouts and errors a support team can read.

How we vet .NET developers

Four stages, before anyone joins your work. You meet the people we propose before anything is signed.

  1. Portfolio & experience reviewRelevant projects, technical depth and hands-on experience are reviewed first.
  2. Technical assessmentA practical task tests code quality, problem-solving and the stack the project uses.
  3. Quality & team reviewSenior engineers review the work for implementation quality, communication and collaboration.
  4. Final approvalConfirmed against the project's requirements and Backendz's quality standards before joining a team.

Engage the way the work needs

  1. Full-time on your teamAn engineer who works with you every day, in your repository, your tickets and your standups. They take work from your backlog like anyone else on the team.
  2. Part-timeA share of an engineer's week for work that does not need a full-time seat, such as keeping an integration running or a steady flow of smaller changes.
  3. For a sprintAn engineer or two for a defined piece of work: a feature, a migration step, an audit. The scope is agreed up front and the work is handed back at the end.
  4. For the long termA dedicated team that grows with your roadmap. The same engineers stay on your product, so what they learn about it stays with you.

Hiring .NET developers: questions we are asked

Can your .NET developers modernise our .NET Framework application?

Yes, usually in stages rather than as one rewrite. We move it to modern .NET a part at a time, behind tests that pin down what it does today, so the business keeps running on the old system until each replacement is ready.

Do they work with SQL Server and our existing stored procedures?

Yes. Much .NET work is in databases that predate the code, so our engineers read and tune T-SQL, document stored procedures, and use Entity Framework Core or Dapper as the database suits.

Can they integrate our .NET system with our ERP?

Yes. ERP integration is regular work for our .NET engineers: sync jobs and APIs between the ERP and your other systems, with logging, safe retries and no duplicate postings.

Do you work in Azure, or on-premises too?

Both. Our engineers build on App Service, Azure Functions and Azure SQL, and also maintain applications on Windows servers you run yourselves, including the move from one to the other.

Should we rewrite our old .NET application or keep it?

Usually keep it and modernise it in place. A full rewrite throws away years of business rules that live only in the code; we recommend one only when the existing system cannot be changed safely, and we explain why.

Still running on workarounds?
